The name "opal" originates from the Sanskrit word "upala", meaning "precious stone." Opal is an exceptionally beautiful mineral that can only form in geologically stable rock layers—areas with minimal tectonic activity, essentially the most delicate gemstone.

Composed of multiple metal elements and containing water within its structure, opal exhibits a mesmerizing play of colors due to light refraction, earning it titles like "the crystallization of creativity" and "the fate stone that shines with a rainbow." Generally, opals are categorized into two types: common opal (non-color-changing) and precious opal (color-changing).
