Sapphire-Eyed Wish Spirit
The name "aquamarine" comes from the Latin word "Aquamarina," meaning "sea water." The raw stones are mostly blue-green or green, turning light blue after heat treatment, with major sources including Brazil, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
As the birthstone for March, it symbolizes "calmness and bravery" as well as "happiness and longevity." Legend has it that aquamarine is the embodiment of sea spirits, so sailors wore it to pray for safe voyages.
Greek culture regards it as the crystallization of the ocean's soul, often carved with images of sea gods to protect navigation. In ancient Greek mythology, it was called the "Stone of Love," and people in the Mediterranean region loved wearing aquamarine to seek sweet love and a happy marriage.
