The name Chalcedony comes from the ancient Greek port city of "Chalcedon," and it has been used as an amulet and decorative item since 4000 BC. As a variety of cryptocrystalline quartz, Chalcedony is known for its delicate and smooth texture, with common colors including blue, red, green, and purple.

Major producing regions include Brazil, India, Madagascar, and Australia. In ancient Egypt, green Chalcedony was used to make scarab amulets, symbolizing rebirth and eternity; ancient Greek warriors inlaid it in their armor, believing it brought courage; and Arab culture regarded it as the "Prophet's Stone," used to enhance wisdom and insight.
