Fresh dawn

Prehnite was discovered in 1788 by Dutch Army Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, an avid mineral enthusiast, in Cradock, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. After bringing it back to Europe, the discovery was published by the world-renowned German geologist Abraham Gottlob Werner, who named the mineral after Hendrik von Prehn.

The primary deposits of prehnite are found in South Africa, Australia, China, and the United States. High-quality prehnite exhibits a "fluorescence" similar to that of glassy jadeite, making it exceptionally beautiful. In Romani culture, prehnite is regarded as a gemstone with special powers.

Legend has it that before conducting a divination, the Romani people would often wear prehnite, believing it could enhance their perception of the unknown world and help them communicate better with mystical forces.

Some Aboriginal tribes in Australia consider prehnite as the "Tears of the Earth," using it in rain-making ceremonies, where its pale green color symbolizes the renewal of plant life.
